The theme park was called “Foxploration” but has since been closed and Fox studios auctioned off many of the remaining props from the movie. of course, but the set was built in a seaside location to give the. while the producers went all-out creating elaborate sets and imitating the design of the original ship, CGI helped accomplish much of what made the movie so epic. Most of the debris was thrown away but a good number of props were scavenged by movie fans & beachcombers.ĭue to the success of the movie, a theme park was set up by Fox adjacent to the movie lot featuring many of the interior sets & props used in the movie & several other Fox films. Anyone who grew up in the 90s will remember the Titanic film, which tells the story of the RMS Titanic. Interior sets that had been built into the framework also suffered extensive damage and for safety reasons the set was dismantled. The ship prop could not be saved due to it being submerged & raised several times in the tank causing warpage & damage to the plywood.
It was built only on one side, the side shown in the photo and was built on steel framing & hydraulic jacks designed to replicate the ship sinking.Īfter filming was completed, the entire set was torn down.
